Heidi Yost - Voice, Piano

B.M. Voice Performance
Florida State University

M.M. Music Theatre Performance
Arizona State University

Heidi has taught her craft for over fifteen years and enjoys the diversity of working with both singers and pianists. Her students have gone on to study Voice Performance, Music Theatre, and Music Education at the college level, as well as to perform professionally. She maintains a small and focused studio, limited to 10-12 students each in Voice and Piano.

  Voice Lessons:

As a voice teacher, Heidi emphasizes healthy technique, good musicianship, and performance experience. She aims to provide singers with the tools and skills necessary to grow into their vocal potential and achieve their goals. Heidi works primarily with teenage vocalists, from age 13 on, crossing over all styles, but focusing on Classical and Music Theater repertoire. Lessons and song choices are tailored to each individual's age, current skill level, and vocal goals. For students who are working toward acceptance into a college program, Heidi also provides guidance and support through the audition process. There are three studio performances throughout the year – two traditional recitals, and one Pop/Broadway showcase – as well as several other performance and competition opportunities through MTAC (Music Teachers Association of California) and NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing).

  Piano Lessons:

Heidi works with beginning through early advanced piano students. She teaches traditional, classical piano, theory, and for those students who show an interest and aptitude, integrates some instruction in beginning composition and pop/jazz.
